TRUNK-or-TREAT returns!

Families and friends are invited to join us for an evening of “fright-free” fun on Friday, Oct. 30 from 6:00pm - 8:30pm, for our third annual “Trunk-or-Treat” event at the Sugar Grove United Methodist Church! Children (and adults too!) are encouraged to come in costume, gussy-up their trunks, and get into the spirit with classic games such as the ever popular “bobbing for apples”, crafts, and food! Grill a hot dog and toast your own marshmallow! Prizes will be given to the most creative car trunk! So get involved and join the fun—ALL ARE WELCOME!

Youth Fellowship is for students 6th grade thru 12th grade. We meet every other week (unless otherwise noted) from 6:00-7:30pm. Here are the upcoming dates and activities taking place this fall!

…And get ready, as in the middle of October, we’ll once again have our “SPOOKTACULAR LOCK-IN!”

SGUMCYF will once again be having a mum fundraiser, proceeds going to help cover costs for our annual winter retreat! Date and cost of mums to be determined, so stay tuned to your weekly “WINGS” report and Sunday morning announcements.

How To Be A Christian Without Being Religious

The Adult Bible Class has begun a study of Paul’s Letter to the Romans. As our guide we will be using the book How To Be A Christian Without Being Religious by Fritz Ridenour. The book will be provided at no cost. Why not begin the new church year with a commitment to spend your Sunday mornings from 9:15 to 10:15 studying God’s word? The discussions will be lively and interesting. The book is easy to read and even has cartoons. Many of the chapter titles are very intriguing. Here are a few examples:

Does God ever grade on a curve?
Are Christians…On Parole or Fully Pardoned?
Is your faith more than fire insurance?
How can ALL things work together for good?
The game Christians play too well.

The Sugar Grove Historical Society

is open the first Saturday of each month from 11 am to 2 pm. The Historical Society is also open every Tuesday from 1 pm to 4 pm. The Sugar Grove Historical Society is located on 259 Main St. in Sugar Grove. Come see the Sugar Grove Historical Society’s display at the Sugar Grove Public Library.

Men's Bible Study Group

The Men's Bible Study Group will be starting up again in October. Earlier this spring we studied the book "7 Promises of a Promise Keeper". Our next session, starting early October, we will be studying "Stepping Up: A Call to Courageous Manhood". Anyone interested please contact Rick Wojak at rswojak@att.net.
